Dear Lady of Grace...
Please allow us the opportunity to invite you, personally, to be part of the Women's Ministry events being planned for 2009. Whether you have been at GVCF for only a few weeks or many years, we urge you to join with us as we grow spiritually, in friendship and sisterhood, and just have fun through shared experiences. These carefully planned events and programs are unique opportunities for growth and relationship beyond the limits of Sunday morning service. Although we realize the current demands of you life may make it difficult to consider doing anything more, we ask that you give us a chance to show you that you are wanted, appreciated and agree your time is too valuable to be wasted!"
The Pink Party, planned for February 21st from 10:30-11:45 kicks off our season with breakfast and an overview of what will follow as the year unfolds. Watch a video from last year's Women's Retreat and hear testimonies from a few who have been blessed as a result of some of our special programs. Come see for yourself what's ahead and what it might offer you.
Our theme for '09 is "Something More" and our annual Women's Retreat is definitely one of the most "something more" offerings of Women's Ministry! Each year, women come away feeling enriched, refreshed, encouraged and more connected to the other women of our fellowship. We have a terrific venue at the Embassy Suites in Frisco, where we will gather from Friday evening, April 24th - Sunday noon, April 26th. There will be four formal sessions, relevant, spiritually rich and offering ample opportunity for personal ministry. As importantly, we have deliberately scheduled lots of free time to take advantage of the facility, the surrounding area, and provide a forum to enjoy the company of the other attendees. Whether you plan to spend Saturday afternoon shopping, lounging around the pool, or catching up on your sleep, you will have the luxury of "me time!" Over the course of the Retreat Weekend we will be discussing other ongoing programs such as our SisterChick Mentoring Program Many, many women of our fellowship have participated in this three-month, one-on-one mentoring experience and grown in surprising and marvelous ways as a result. We will also be talking about Ministries to Moms and the Summer Book Club, yet other ways to interact and be blessed by the women who surround you each Sunday. Please note that we are very aware that this is a tough economic time for most of us, and every effort is made to keep this lovely weekend experience affordable. Easy payment plans are in place to aid you in making this do-able. Please prayerfully consider how you can join us this year.
Our Fall Gathering is slated for October 17th and our wonderful Christmas Tea will be held on December 5th; mark them on your calendar now! We always urge you to invite your friends outside the fellowship to attend events with you, and the tea is a great time to include them. Perhaps you have a relative, co-worker, neighbor or teacher to whom you would like to express your appreciation in an especially thoughtful and unique way. What a wonderful tradition to begin the Christmas Season!
Check out our Women's Ministry table at the back of the sanctuary this Sunday. Ask questions, and sign-up for the Pink Party. Dare to risk a little to get a lot! We want you with us....
Yours faithfully,
The Women's Council of GVCF
