Adopt A Block is a ministry that constantly asks the question: "If our church were to disappear tomorrow, would our community miss it?"
Too often we as Christians have been guilty of living in a community that is seemingly walled off from the people living around us. But that is not how Jesus intended us to be. He said "When I was hungry you fed me," "When I was naked you clothed me," and "When I was in prison you visited me." Even though we've never done that for Jesus himself, when we feed, clothe, and visit those around us, it is just like we are doing that for Jesus.
At Adopt A Block we simply love those who live near where God has planted us as a church until they ask why. We aren't passing out Bibles, or tracts, or recruiting for church membership. We are just finding a need and filling it, and finding a hurt and healing it. It sounds a bit cheesy, but it is love, real love, Jesus' love.
