Jose Antonio

From our July Missions Trip to Reynosa, Mexico:

We prayed for a man named Jose Antonio. He approached us as we were finishing tarping his house and asked for prayer for his knee. He was limping and the knee was physically tweaked. Bob O'Brien and I were there. I asked if he thought God had the power to heal. He said yes. I asked him again, do you really believe this? That God has power and he can restore your knee? He woke up to the question and said YES.

I told him I believed God wanted to heal him, and I know that it is in His character to express His love toward us in this way. He believed this and let us pray for his knee. I asked if anything happened. He said no. So I said, I am not the one with the magic. God has it. He has the power. And we can ask again and again. I started praying again. I saw a joint come into alignment (this is something I saw in my mind, but for me, is a signal that God is now at work). The Holy Spirit was working. I asked him what happened to his knee. He said he injured his knee going down some stairs. When he limped he was in great pain and could not put his weight on his knee joint nor rotate it. We prayed more and he said he felt heat on his knee. We felt the presence of teh Holy Spirit and believed for a miracle. He told us the next day he would be visiting the doctor to get an xray.

Later that evening I couldn't stop thinking about him. I couldn't stop thinking about a loving Father wanting to heal his child. As we met as a team that night I invited everyone to join me to pray for Jose Antonio. I just had so much excitement that we would get to see a miracle in the morning.

The next day I went to house with Paul Jones, and he came to the door---excited to see me! He invited me quickly into his home and showed me his xrays. Everything had been restored! Joints were aligned! Pain gone! Mobility restored! He said he didn't feel much differently from the day before until the evening, when he said he felt a sensation on his knee and leg. (The same time we were praying miles away!)

I watched him walk and turn around without a limp and without pain. Healed! He looked at Paul and I with hope. You ARE coming back, right? With a smile. With expectation.
